Down Comforter Re-Covering

Choose to re-use! Save money and the environment by having All About Down® re-cover your down comforter. It will save you approximately half the cost of buying a new comforter of equal quality.

You Can Have the Comforter of Your Dreams - Choose between 16 standard sizes, one standard and three specialty down-proof fabrics, superior goose down, and five fill weights. Sound complicated? It isn’t with the expert guidance of All About Down®. Don’t see what you want? We can make a custom down comforter because we are both manufacturer and retailer.

Down-Proof Fabric Keeps Your Precious Goose Down from Leaking - All About Down® will cover your comforter with down-proof, Egyptian cotton fabric that we import from Germany because it's the best available.

Fluff Your Puff by Adding Goose Down - Add our 700 to 800-fill power goose down when re-covering your comforter to make it warmer, increase the loft of used down, or if the re-covered comforter will be larger than the original. All About Down® can recommend how much goose down to add. SUGGESTION: Look at our down comforter Fill Weight Chart to choose the right down comforter fill weight for your climate or your metabolism.

We can even make down comforter that has more goose down on one side than the other (as a custom order) to cover that tricky situation where a Cold Sleeper is sharing a bed with a Warm Sleeper.

We Will Wash Your Used Goose Down for Best Results - Our expert cleaning service washes your used down before re-covering it so it will be as fresh as possible.

A Perfectly Sized Re-Covered Down Comforter - Choose from the sixteen standard sizes of All About Down® comforters, including pillow-top and California king sizes. Use the Duvet Cover measurements found on our Down Comforter Measurements chart to see how your re-covered down comforter will fit your bed. A down comforter is constrained by the size of its duvet cover.

Secure Top-Stitching Keeps the Down in Place - An All About Down® comforter top-stitches the goose down into large, pillowy squares that keep the down on top of the bed and prevent shivery cold spots. Other styles of top-stitching can allow the down to shift around and slide to the lowest point over the sides of the bed.

The Goose Down in Your Old Comforter Should Be Light and Fluffy - If the down in your used down comforter is flat or lumpy, it is worn out and not worth using. Washing can sometimes fluff up flat down, but not if it's worn out. Sometimes somewhat worn out down can be used to make pillows. Feathers shouldn’t be used unless you want a heavy comforter. All About Down® will advise you.

Can We Combine Goose Down from Your Other Down Items When Re-Covering a Down Comforter? - Down from sleeping bags can be added to a re-covered comforter if not worn out. Army sleeping bags contain a high percentage of feathers. Use them only if you want a heavy comforter. However, they can make good pillows.

The down from jackets can sometimes be used, but they don’t contain much and it's often poor quality.

Not recommended — adding the contents of used pillows to a re-covered comforter. Pillow filling is usually worn out by being used every night and often contains feathers.

How Long Does It Take All About Down® to Re-Cover My Comforter? - The average is two weeks. The busiest time of the year is September through January when it can take up to three to four weeks to fulfill orders. Our least busy time is in the spring. If you can’t bear to be separated from your comforter for any length of time, let us know and we can make special arrangements to get it back to you as soon as possible.

Your Down Is Kept Separate and Returned to You - All About Down®  keeps your down separate from everyone else’s and returns it to you in your renovated down comforter.
